YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy Policy.
I take your privacy seriously. This page explains what information I collect, why I need it and how I look after it.

Who is responsible for your information?
I am the therapist behind Therapy with Lenka. I am responsible for how your information is used and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
You can contact me at info@therapywithlenka.com if you have any questions about your privacy.
What information do I collect?
If you contact me, I collect your name, contact details and anything you choose to tell me.
If we begin therapy, I also collect information needed to work with you safely. This may include your date of birth, home address, GP surgery, relevant health information, assessment details, appointment and payment information, and notes about our sessions.
I work with adults aged 18 and over, mainly online. Sometimes we may agree to meet in person for an exposure exercise or behavioural experiment.
Please avoid sending detailed medical information in your first enquiry.
Why do I need this information?
I use your information to respond to enquiries, arrange appointments, provide therapy, keep appropriate clinical records, manage payments and help keep you safe.
Data protection law allows me to use information where it is needed to take steps towards or provide therapy, meet legal duties and run a safe practice. Health information has extra legal protection. I rely on the rules for providing health care or treatment where those rules apply, together with professional confidentiality requirements.
Where is your information kept?
I use my professional Hostinger email for correspondence and Sessionly to manage client details and therapy notes. When my Sessionly enquiry page is available, you will be able to send enquiries through that service.
This website is planned to be hosted with Netlify, which may process basic technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. These providers handle information under their own applicable terms and privacy arrangements.
Will I share your information?
What you tell me is confidential. I do not routinely contact your GP simply because you have given me their details.
I may share relevant information with your permission, when required by law, or when there is a serious safety or safeguarding concern. Where appropriate and possible, I will discuss this with you first. I may also discuss clinical work in professional supervision while limiting identifying details.
How long do I keep information?
If you enquire but do not become a client, I delete your information when it is no longer needed.
If you become a client, I generally keep your clinical records for seven years after therapy ends. Sometimes information must be kept longer for legal, safeguarding or professional reasons. Financial records may have different retention requirements.
What are your rights?
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct mistakes and, in some circumstances, ask for information to be deleted or for its use to be limited. Some rights have legal exceptions, particularly for clinical records.
Email info@therapywithlenka.com to ask about your information. If you are unhappy with how it is handled, you can contact the ICO.
Links and changes
Links to Instagram and Psychology Today take you to other services with their own privacy notices. I will update this page if the way I handle information changes.
